Daily itinerary

Day1 (Saturday, 16 Nov 2019)

Arrival and transfer to the hotel for an orientation meeting. Develop an understanding of the social context of Siem Reap by learning about the history of Cambodia through discussion.

Day 2 (Sunday, 17 Nov 2019)
A day at the temples – including the world’s largest religious monument shrine and one of the seven wonders of the world – Angkor Wat. The tour will also include Bayon and Angkor Thom temples. After lunch, learn about landmines before free time at the hotel.

Day 3 (Monday, 18 Nov 2019)  
A 20km bicycle tour through the Siem Reap Countryside, where you will get to learn about agriculture, visit a local market, pagoda, and a mushroom and lotus farm. In the afternoon visit the Rehash Trash social enterprise and get involved in learning how to crochet and make funky things out of roadside rubbish.

Day 4 (Tuesday, 19 Nov 2019)

The first of the community engagement activities with the Treak Community Centre, Treak Village. There will be three teams in the library, garden and doing some manual labour.  A Cambodian cooking class completes the activities for the day.

Day 5 (Wednesday, 20 Nov 2019)

Continue work in the Treak community. The afternoon is broken up with a visit to the Silk Screen Printing Lab to create a printed tee-shirt and learn about social enterprise.

Day 6 (Thursday, 21 Nov 2019)
Continue work in the Treak community. See first hand the innovation in making use of plastic waste to use in building projects for the less privileged community members. On the evening of Day six, visit the Phare Circus for an evening of spectacular and mind-boggling entertainment.

Day 7 (Friday, 22 Nov 2019)

A morning debrief before packing up to return to HK.
