Study Medicine in London

Medical Doorway are delighted announce that it is still possible to apply to study medicine at Brunel University in London. There is increased competition for international students seeking to study medicine at British universities in 2021. A direct application to Brunel offers an additional opportunity to aspiring doctors who want to enrol next year.

The MBBS at Brunel is only open to international students, creating a new pathway for those who want a UK medical qualification. The number of medical school seats for international students in London is at a premium. The Brunel University programme offers a fantastic opportunity for aspiring doctors who want the added convenience and experience of studying and living in one of the world’s most connected capitals.

Applications can be made directly and 100% free with Medical Doorway giving applicants another option aside of the four they will have already made through UCAS.

For the 2021 admission, A-level candidates will be required to gain an AAB which must include Biology or Chemistry plus one additional science from Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Maths. IB candidates should have, or be expected to achieve, a total score of at least 33 points with Higher Level 6 and Higher Level 5 in either Chemistry or Biology and a second science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics). Currently UCAT or BMAT is NOT required.

In 2021, ten scholarships of up to £30,000 will be available. This will reduce the current annual tuition fee of £40,000 to £34,000 per year for the five years of the MBBS.

While applications are still being accepted, the medical school have already commenced shortlisting those who have already applied. We therefore strongly advise students to commence the application as soon as possible.

Scholarships to study in China!

Posted by heo

Dear Dorothy Ng, we want to help your students make an international education a reality.

We offer generous scholarship and financial aid packages to ensure top-tier candidates from around the world can have the opportunity to study with us.

With world-class faculty and an academic program that culminates in two degrees—one from Duke University and one from Duke Kunshan University—Duke Kunshan provides a truly international educational experience that will benefit your students for the rest of their lives.

Over 80% of our international students receive scholarships and/or financial aid support.
Scholarships are awarded for the entirety of the four-year program on the condition that all academic requirements are met. The highest amount awarded provides funds to cover 100% of tuition for the duration of the four-year program.

We offer both merit-based scholarships and need-based financial aid. When your students apply, they will automatically be considered for merit scholarships, which are awarded based on both achievement and potential. To be considered for need-based aid, extra documentation must be submitted through the CSS profile, which will help us understand your students’ financial needs.

Also, from the moment our students set foot on campus, they have access to various on-campus job opportunities, allowing them to earn some extra spending money while developing their professional skills. In Duke Kunshan’s student work program, 325 students filled 774 positions on campus. In the 2018-2019 academic year, nearly a third of undergraduates obtained one or more campus jobs.

Oxford: Admissions 2021 – online interviews

Posted by heo

The subject-specific timetable for interviews is now available. Interviews are scheduled to take place between 7 and 18 December. We expect that most candidates will be at school for their interviews but we do understand this may not be possible in all cases. Your shortlisted applicants will need your help to find a quiet location, with the necessary IT equipment and stable Wi-fi.

Technology requirements

All interviews for 2021-22 entry will take place online using Microsoft Teams. Any additional technology required will depend on the course being interviewed for. Technology requirements have been divided into three tiers, with tier 1 involving the least technology and tier 3 requiring the most. Most courses are in tier 1 where only a computer for video conferencing using Microsoft Teams is required. Interviews for some subjects are likely to require the use of a shared virtual whiteboard and in other, more mathematical subjects, a separate touchscreen device will be needed for the whiteboard along with a basic universal stylus so that mathematical notation, drawn sketches, annotated diagrams or text, or added text can be shared. You can see the essential equipment and technology required for each subject on our website.

No candidate or their school will be expected to purchase a touchscreen device in order to participate in their Oxford interviews. Where necessary, for tier 3 subjects and where there are more technology requirements, colleges will discuss alternative arrangements with schools and applicants in order to find a practical solution for everyone involved.

What will the online interviews be like?

We have produced three videos to help candidates get a better sense of what the interviews will be like. Links to these videos will be sent out with interview invitations but they are also available as part of the interview guidance on our website. In addition, we have provided answers to the most commonly asked questions, including how to prepare, in a new FAQs section.

New Code of Conduct

This year we have introduced a new Code of Conduct which candidates agree to when they accept their online interview invitation. Please note that candidates are asked not to record the interview or “share in any form the content of interviews with others”.

Among our accolades: best classroom experience, most accessible professors, best value, most beautiful campuses, best professors, colleges that change lives, most intellectual, most politically active, best food, happiest students, most diverse classrooms, most international, most entrepreneurial, most green, best college towns, colleges that pay you back, smartest colleges, and most rigorous.
