Habitat Challenge Day – Charity Walk

Posted by Peter MUIR

The Habitat Challenge Day 2012 aims to support Habitat For Humanity’s house restoration and mitigation projects in Hong Kong and China. The walk starts from Tung Chung and ends at Tai O. It echoes Habitat’s Tai O Stilt House Restoration and Community Development Project, which served about 122 elderly and low-income families and completed a total of 92 build-site works between May 2010 to June 2012. Through restoration instead of reconstruction, both economic development and heritage preservation have been promoted. On 9th Dec, participants can witness the achievements in this effort. The participants can also overcome check-point challenges which related to Habitat For Humanity and Tai O history. The Habitat Challenge Day – Charity Walk will be held on December 9, 2012 and will take around 3 to 5 hours. It will cost HKD250 to join.
