Secondary Production Costumes – help needed

Get involved in supporting the secondary production while developing your design skills!  If you are interested in designing and creating the costumes for the secondary production, please come to a short meeting on Wednesday 20th September at 1.30pm in room 5203.  Otherwise speak to Mrs Whittaker.

This is an opportunity for you to get creative while learning new skills, and is something that you can add to your CE / CAS portfolio.

“Teach-An-Hour” Programme

Access HK invites students to participate in their “Teach-An-Hour” Programme. getting involved will give you the opportunity to teach local students English in a friendly environment. The programme kicks off in October 2017 with teaching taking place at Farm Road Government, a government funded public school founded in 1956, and Principal Chan Free Tutorial World, a non-profit organization established in 2011 aiming to provide free learning support to underprivileged children who have financial difficulties.

Teaching takes place from 10:30 am -12 noon on these dates: 7th,14th, 21st October; 4th,11th,18th, 25th November, 2nd, 9th, 16th December 2017, with the minimum commitment being half of these sessions.

Class Structure: Simple and understandable English with interactive teaching; teacher to student ratio of 1:5. Each class will be conducted by 2 volunteers with about 10 students.

Ark Eden internship opportunity

Ark Eden, an environmental education organization based on Lantau Island, are looking for students to act as leaders on their holiday camps. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working outdoors, working directly with children and to join a positive, supportive and fun working environment.  Student leaders will learn the skills to be a leader of activities for children aged 5-11, and is an ideal opportunity for anyone with an interest in working with children, outdoor/adventure pursuits, environmental responsibility or NGO work.

Join a community hockey team

A group of Year 13 students are looking for people willing to participate in their field hockey team!

As a CAS project, the group started a field hockey team for ages 14-18 in collaboration with the DC Pirates. Training sessions will start this Saturday, 9th of September 2017, from 10:30am-12pm.

Anyone is welcome and no prior experience is needed! The main aim is to promote and grow field hockey as a sport for the youth section of U14 and older ages for DB Pirates.

If possible please bring your own sticks (if you have them), mouthguard and shinguards. A limited number of hockey sticks will be provided by the DB Pirates.
