Booktober

Room to Read is considering October is a month like no other – it is BOOKTOBER!  Room to Read, whose aim is a world in which all children can pursue a quality education, is looking at October being a month to create awareness about literacy.  The orgnanisation is asking for you to take action to change the number of illiterate children in the world today. During Booktober, communities all over the world will hold events to raise funds and awareness, to ensure that as many children in the developing world as possible receive a high quality education. Ideas for activities include holding read-a-thons, hosting book swaps, or giving up most loved treats for a few weeks all in the name of LITERACY!

Did you know that it only costs HK$10 to print a local language book for a library in one of the 10 countries in which we work? What are you going to do to educate a child?  What events are you going to plan?  Please check out the event website for BOOKTOBER fundraising ideas that you can put into action!
