Happy Discovery Video Competition
Posted by Peter MUIR
DC students are invited to participate in the first Happy Discovery Video Competition, an initiative run by Hong Kong Resort Company Limited. The competition encourages entrants to create a short film that showcases and celebrates Discovery Bay’s people, culture and natural beauty. Here is a message form the organising committee:
We are keen to see student applications as part of the competition, and we welcome students to demonstrate their creativity by capturing the special moments that occur as part of their daily lives in Discovery Bay. We are looking for ‘Happy Discovery’ clips that reflect the diverse and unique characteristics of life in Discovery Bay. Inspiration might be found while spending time with friends, teachers or pets, relaxing with family at the beach or enjoying the natural environment along a nearby hiking trail. Ultimately, we would like to see how Discovery Bay positively influences students’ lives.
To be eligible, students should submit one video clip with a duration of between 30 seconds to 5 minutes along with a completed application form by 31 May 2014. Applicants are welcome to apply individually or as a team with schoolmates, friends or parents; each team can include up to five members.
A select panel of judges chosen for their contributions to Hong Kong art and society will review each entry and select the winner in seven categories based on creativity and innovation, production techniques, presentation skills and visual effects. We are pleased to offer a range of prizes, including a HK$5,000 cash grand prize as well as dining vouchers. Competition results will be announced on in July.
