ISA in Year 4

Posted by year4

This week all year 4 students will be completing the International Schools’ Assessment(ISA). This consists of a series of assessments in mathematics, reading and writing.

This is our schedule for the week:

These tests will not be marked by the Year Four teachers.  They will be sent back to the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) where they will be marked.  In the new year (2016) the school will receive individual reports of each child’s results which we will then pass onto parents.

Because this is the first time many year four students have completed a ‘formal’ assessment, we will spend some time showing them the type of questions they will see on the tests.  One of the main purposes of these tests is to find out where students are currently at and to help us as a school plan the next steps in their learning, therefore there is no need for parents to try and prepare their children for these tests.

If you have any questions of concerns about ISA, please contact Kris Stanhope (kris.stanhope@dc.edu.hk).
