After the Easter break we will be starting a new unit in mathematics. The unit will be about fractions.
Please see the success criteria below:
10 Day Math Challenge
As many of you know, a couple of weeks ago we had some students in year four begin their very first 10 Day Challenge in math. Please find the challenge by clicking here.
It is not easy committing to ten consecutive days of mathematics, but many of our students took on this challenge and succeeded spectacularly. Congratulations to all of them.
We have been really happy with the commitment shown by all these students and we are hopeful that next term more students will take on a math challenge!
From all of us in Year 4, have an enjoyable, safe and relaxing holiday. See you in April for the final term of Year 4. It should be lots of fun.

Year four has been busily getting on with our new unit over the last few weeks. We have been inquiring into food systems and thinking about organic farming, additives, preservatives, and food packaging. As well as that students have been finding area, perimeter and volume of a variety of shapes and are beginning to look at the different properties of those shapes as well.
We were lucky enough this week to have an EXPERT come into our classrooms and talk to us about bees and honey. Our very own Hunter Clausen from 4LWE talked about his experience with bees, bee hives and honey; amazing us with his astounding knowledge and passion for the topic. Everyone learned so much.
Another exciting thing that happened is that many of the posters, brochures and children’s books from our Body Systems unit have been displayed around the school and in the library. Thanks to Mrs Sercombe who created a fantastic display, encouraging all primary students to learn more about their bodies through the action that year four have taken.
