The HEO will be holding regular coffee mornings in the DP Centre to keep parents informed on what is happening in the complex arena of Higher Education and to address any issues, questions or concerns. This is aimed to parents of students in years 10-13 and the topic of discussion will be fluid and flexible, directed purely by your requests.

Our next coffee morning will be held on Tuesday 6 February at 8.30am targeted towards parents of Y13 parents, but everyone is welcome. The topic will be focused on how to respond to university offers, payment of deposits, and the transition to university. For the 5th straight year, CDNIS is proud to host the only official University of Cambridge Summer School in the world bringing several active Cambridge academics to Hong Kong from July 22 to July 28 offering 15-hour courses covering a range of disciplines.

This unique, affordable summer school experience and is open to all Hong Kong students aged 15-18. The 15-hour courses are taught by current University of Cambridge academic staff and are equivalent at a near 1st Year University of Cambridge level. There is a wide range of academically focused courses and also a few non-specialist courses available.

Details, including an entire list of courses being offered and how to register are available by clicking here. Registration begins Monday, February 13 at 8am and courses will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. Classes are limited to a maximum of just 20 students.

Cost – HK$7,000

Examples of courses: A taste of Medicine, Introduction to Public International Law, How to Speak Well in Public, and How to Write Your Best Essay.

All courses will take place at Canadian International School of Hong Kong, located at 36 Nam Long Shan Road. The school is located just a 10-minute walk from the Wong Chuk Hang MTR station (South Island Line).

Our Pre-Vet Summer School is a pay to attend two-week residential programme where students will gain veterinary skills, knowledge and earn one week of work experience in our globally-recognised animal hospitals, research facilities and farm.

Please be aware that applications open on Wednesday 24th January (10:00am GMT) and will close on Monday 16th April (5:00pm GMT) at www.rvc.ac.uk/prevetsummer. NB: We will start making offers when we have received all applications and can determine the strongest applicants based on their academic achievements/predicted achievements and personal statement. As such we would recommend candidates spending time constructing their personal statement before submitting, as no offers will be made before Monday 16th April.

The ESF University Fair is organised by the English Schools Foundation. Hosted by King George V School, the event aims at providing our students with information on higher education destinations. This year, about 165 institutions from over the world will be sending representatives to the Fair. It is a great opportunity for students to gain knowledge on universities or countries they are interested in, and to explore institutions they are not familiar with.
