Score: 6-1 (W) vs Harrow

This game was played straight after the loss to Harrow B so the boys started the game with a point to prove. Unfortunately we went 1 nil down after a wonderfully struck free kick for Harrow. The boys responded superbly though and goals from Seth Peramunetilleke, Ralphy Dray and Oliver Luk ensured we reached half-time with a healthy 3-1 lead. The second half started as though the game was 0-0, with the boys defending resolutely and playing some lovely one touch football on the break. Another 2 goals from Oliver and another for Ralphy ensured we ran out much deserved 6-1 winners. The boys have worked so hard for the 3 previous games with little reward but they got a fantastic result here and should be very proud of their effort, especially given that we only had one substitute on what was a very humid day. Outstanding effort. Go Cobras!

Score: 1-7 (L) vs Harrow

Our third fixture of the season was against Harrow B. The teams were very evenly matched early on in a keenly contested game with good chances at both ends. Harrow managed to get the all important breakthrough to go one up, but the boys responded magnificently and equalised through a wonder strike from Ralphy Dray, a beautiful curling shot that found the top right-hand bin. 1-1. More chances followed for the DC boys but we were unable to capitalise and were punished by Harrow just before half-time, who then led 2-1 going into the break. The boys put in a sterling effort in the second half but once Harrow got 2 and 3 goals ahead the game ran away from us.

Score: 3-1(W) v Harrow

Despite going a goal down in the first half to a physically larger team, the girls spent far more time in the opposition half and had some good attempts on goal only missing that final killer shot when in front of the net. As the game moved into the second half the girls became increasing assertive and showed their desire to pull back the deficit. They chased and pressured and saw their efforts rewarded with three goals from three different players. All round a fantastic team effort and a deserved win.

A hot day led to a hard fought match with plenty of good points to take away from both teams.
